This is my digital trip to India, Summer 2015. I’d had some working plans to make an actual trip but they had to get put aside. Undeterred, the team in India and me set about meeting our goals for the week using a variety of technical and organizational means. Video conference, calls, Skype, digital whiteboards. Tools of the trade, right? Also including the things I’ve come to know and love about visiting India, as best as we could accommodate.
Much thanks, dhanyavad, nandri, to Team India for making this a successful “trip”!
Here’s the pics…
Time to depart!
My transport – Air Xterra. I ride first class on this carrier.
My stop mid-trip. The United Club at Newark? The Lufthansa Senator Lounge at Frankfurt? Noooo – the Cafe at Brattleboro Food Co-op!
My tasty travel treat – Fakin’ Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato sandwich. I am a happy traveler.
Speaking of food… in order to transport my digital self to India I needed the culinary complement. In India I’d eat a diet of cereal with non-dairy milk, some coconut milk, mangos, a host of Indian delights like Aloo, Channa and Dal, mango, and fresh lime soda. Also, some fennel for after. Oh…and LOTS of espresso!
My “hotel” (kindly disregard that it looks like my home office).
Day 1 in Digital India. 930am IST. It’s kinda dark out my window.
Day 1 – time for Dosa from the Dosa Truck!
Digital India – Day 2. Still kinda dark at 930am IST.
Chatting with Ankur. Even this far apart, we’re a team in sync!
No cloudiness in this Cloud team. (Nice office, eh?)
Day 3 of Digital India greets me. 930am IST. Yes, if you didn’t pick up on the theme, I’m on India Time this week.
Day three has come to an end.
Time for the traditional India-trip movie. How about “Namastey London”. Ji-hai!
Day 4. Traffic.
The traffic in Digital India is terrible!
Day 5 – Wrap up meetings. Thanks Cloud Go-Team!
Thanks Info Bus Go-Team!
Thanks Framework Prototype Prep Team! By the way – who is that savvy looking guy standing up? Some celebrity strolled in?
Time to close my Digital India trip…with…DOSA!
Oh my… the traffic is just AWFUL!
And, what would a digital trip to India be without a cow. Parkallam! Phir Milenge!
