Time to kick this trip off with a drive to Boston Logan Int’l.

Parked safe and dark.

This is what taking a photo from a moving walkway can do to ones output.

The Bridge to Int’l terminal.

BOS Int’l Terminal

All checked in (and upgraded 😉

Now for some Lufthansa Lounge time!

Espresso?

Always time for espresso!

(apparently not always time for cleaning the lounge.)

Boarding time.

The shadow knows it’s gonna be stretching out on this flight. Yay!

Hindi film? Bahut accha!

Nope, UK was the previous trip.

Time to kick back and head east.

Bye, America. See you on Black Friday!

They even give instructions on how to kick back (or maybe how to not die in an emergency. I can’t be bothered with such things, not in Business Class!)

a dance scene, kind of early but why not?

We have lift off!

This is cool – organic vegan hand lotion in the Business Class lavatory.

Hindi Movie #2 – “Table 21”. Good thriller.

Morning breaks over Europe.

Pics of Germany from above.

Landed!

I got a data plan this trip.

Inside the terminal.

Ah, better. Inside the lounge. Espresso? Why, yes!

Pretzels and vegetarian tempeh stir fry.

First time flying BMI Regional.

It’s an Embraer RJ, pretty much like the United Express flights I get on a lot.

By (for now) Munich!

Hello Rotterdam.

This is weird. Big glowing pool of light.

Rotterdam welcomes me.

I liked the trippy effect of the airplane window on prior pic. Here’s the actual sign from outside.

My hotel. Soon to be a Marriott.

View from the restaurant.

View of my green curry. I am so glad I’m heading to India for Indian food!

Pics of Rotterdam, Sunday night.

Hotel from outside.

Monday – pics of Rotterdam. this is a big transportation hub – trains, busses, taxis. (No cows).

I love a fancy coffee machine in my room.

And big flowers in the lobby!

Pics walking outside. Kind of a rainy day.

Went to meet Paul from UK team, to work on presentations for the conference we’re at.

Views of Rotterdam.

The hotel lounge. I discovered panorama setting on my camera 🙂

Lounge espresso maker. YAY!

I opted for Italian dinner…

…at the Gallery Kitchen next to hotel.

Tuesday breakfast. I’m excited about peanut butter potential.

Peanut butter execution was lackluster. Too gritty. At least there was espresso.

Street views on a Tues.

Nilgun from UK team presents.

Paul shows off Ciber in his presentation.

Evening views.

We don’t need an army to invade you. We just move in and make you fat like the rest of America. Then, you’re ours!

Rotterdam has some cool things. I have no idea what they are. This is two big opulescent panels that spin and rotate on a pole.

Rotterdam has Warhammer (see last UK trip). Pic in honour of Staci.

I was looking for tasty food. Walked around, found Istanbul Grand Cafe.

Yummy mid-eastern food, except maybe the french fries. (they were yummy)

Frog statue at Galleria Kitchen, where I got an espresso on walk to hotel.

Wednesday wakeup and pics without a wet wipe of a day. (my alliteration skills are awful).

Statue of Pinocchio.

I was UK for a Day!

Jen from UK team presents on CX.

Last walkabout in Rotterdam.

The buildings are quirky, even though they look like normal buildings disjointed by my panorama attempts.

Bricks. very clean bricks.

I do hope the Marriott maintains some of what made this a pretty cool hotel.

Italian again.

With…espresso to wrap up dinner.

I found Starbucks. I had none. This is inside the transportation center.

street-level scenes. Kind of like doing a circle in one spot and snapping pics as I turned.

Pics from the lounge.

The trains are kinda neat. I watched them come and go for fifteen minutes. (espresso hadn’t kicked in yet.)

I say farewell to my room at the Manhattan.

Goodbye weird building outside my window.

Hanging out in Rotterdam’s airport.

Ad on back of magazine. Take that, SAP!

There’s my plane.

So long Rotterdam!

There’s those darned glowing pools again. No idea, never got any intel on what they be.

I know there’s a lot of sky between that plane and mine, but at 500mph, that gap closes fast. Eeek.

Germany from above.

BMI’s regional routes

Hi again, Munich.

I’m not so thrilled with all the Apron Boarding and Deplaning. I like a nice sky-bridge.

But a pretzel and espresso will soothe.

Okay, time to head to Mumbai and fold myself into the coach seat.

But..lo… an upgrade? WOOOHOOO!

Ah. I wonder how this happened.

Aha! Now I know.

Unofficial movie about Jimi Hendrix. Skip it if you see it on your menu.

I do miss having windows. But I learned that middle Business Class seats mean nobody crawls over you when they need to get up, and you don’t crawl over anybody. Besides, what’s there to see at 35000 feet but clouds.

Tamil-time! Romba Nallathadu 🙂

Lufthansa…business…class…has…espressoooooooooooooooo!!!!

India. yay. I’m kinda tired.

This sis what my world is starting to look like. A blurry haze of airports.

India has interesting airport stuff 🙂

And Mumbai has a not-so-interesting shuttle from International Arrivals to Domestic Departures.

First time ever the departure board was 100% native language. Accha!

That’s a big tire.

The funny thing is that they send a guy around yelling about upcoming flight boarding. Kinda defeats the purpose, don’t it?

First time on Jet Airways (later learned I earned miles, too 🙂

Apron boarding. Mumbai was very warm, too. Hot air, tired me, and jet fuel exhaust. I really needed a shower.

Jet Airways route map.

Goodbye, Mumbai!

Hello Indian airplane food made by Indians for Indians.

Hello familiar place.

Out of one side and into the other. I wasn’t actually connecting, since we weren’t sure when to go to Hyderabad, so I had a separate ticket. Man, i confused everyone, me included. At least nobody shot me. And, truly, the folks at Kempegowda airport are nice as heck, even when they have no idea what the heck you are asking.

Air India, first time. Checked in. Now…

Lounge time!

Oh man, India breakfast.

With hot fresh made DOSAAAAAAAAAAA!

I skyped pics of these to the portal team while I ate. I’m mean sometimes. 😉

First time going to another India city.

Again, non-English is first. very cool.

Hyderabad International.

This isn’t the camera, it’s my dazed and hazy brain (well, okay, it IS the camera but that’s what things looked like. I hadn’t slept in 24h)

🙂

Pics driving airport to hotel in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has lots of rocks.

Getting to the tech part of Hyderabad.

Yes, that does say Google.

Window washers.

the entrance to Hi-Tech area of Hyderabad.

Looking sharp, Mr S!

Time for a night out.

Mohan negotiates a cab ride.

Goutham had recommended Chutney’s.

Hyderabad. I like this pic because you can see the big red Oracle sign in the distance.

I had to keep us in line with the staff. In Hyderabad the speak Hindi, which Mohan does not.

We wanted to go to the night market, but the guard said was closed.

So we turned about 90 degrees and gave our business to the Night Bazaar instead!

Mohan haggles some fabric.

I took pictures of stuff.

I bought a scarf from the owner of this store who had a guy singing Indian karaoke that I recognized.

Air Hockey?!? I heard people playing it, too!

Mohan says no cows in Hyderabad, only dogs.

Sunday in Hyderabad.

Yummy.

Mr Cheerful.

Our hotel.

time to bid it goodbye.

Mohan, says, Lets see who can get the best pic of this HiTex thing.

I win this round, Mr Troublesome Siddhan!

Pics from what would be an Rs2000 cab ride.

I finally learned what an Outer Ring Road is.

Back to the Hyderabad airport.

Secured for shopping.

Yea, I mean that. Mohan and I bought cookies, then I bought some Being Human clothes. At the airport. At airport prices. Which are still a bargain if you are from the USA.

BIG SCREEN CRICKET!

Time to head south.

🙂

I know the signs!

This guy followed me from Hyderabad. I think he’s a celebrity or something.

Outside Kempegowda airport. Had a snack from this place.

At Mohan’s suggestion I took this pic. Very cool to see the India flag flying like it was that night.

An omen of traffic to come.

Yup, like that.

Marriott!

Cricket!

Bangladesh Premier League.

Sleeeeep

Or, well, dinner, THEN sleeeeep!

Morning views out of hotel window.

Amar still hands out thoughts of the day. I love going to a hotel halfway round the world and being welcomed by name 🙂

Traaaaaaafic. Not so fun this time around. It was bad.

My driver looks troublesome.

Ciber office.

My chariot!

the new food at Bagmane.

Cows. Free Roaming Cows 🙂

with friends!

Lots of rain lately in Bangalore. I swear the parking garage has stalagmites.

and stalagtites.

This is a cement truck that, if you blur your vision, almost looks like a temple statue.

Wet WEPPIA.

Tuesday starts.

I am finding interest in the infrastructure here. Not sure why, but it’s showing up in pics this trip.

BAH! CURSE YE, TRAFFIC!

Cows care not of traffic.

Traffic cares not of traffic, too.

Yum!

(See UK pics….)

I saw this wall being built last time!

YAY Team!

Looks interesting, should we go here?

Instead we brave traffic and visit Goutham’s house for dinner.

He lives on the 13th floor.

Yup.

Views off Goutham and Jaya’s porch into their complex.

Thanks for dinner, sir!

Grrrrrrr…..

Day three starts.

Sun – finally!

(see – infrastructure!)

sigh….

Kishore, Goutham, …

Vinai, Mohan and me, head to …

SBX. Dinner time!

Thanks Nanbas!

I had a wiring diagram like this in my college dorm.

Rare evening pic of Ciber office building.

Last day begins.

Indeed!

What, no traff..

…um, spoke too soon.

We are s’posed to have more than one color of dry erase marker in the Oracle office. Who stole our color?!?

Oracle Team. Yay team!

One guess where this is?

Yup, A2B!

Time to bid Bangalore Bye.

Bye towel elephant.

Bye 15th floor. Time to go.

Really? I can’t get one break on traffic?

Lounge cricket.

Long line 😦 Traffic, if you will…

Time to board.

Germany, ja!

Nifty Lufthansa logo.

Germany is foggy today.

Lounge is not foggy.

yes. of course.

So long, foggy Frankfurt.

Goodbye, Much Clearer Munich!

And with that…

Boston comes into view…

and my Blackberry deems me home. Namaste!
